Richmond homicide victim may have had gang ties

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Homicide investigators say a man who was found dead in a ditch in Richmond over the weekend may have been involved in the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

The body was found in the area of Cambie and No. 8 roads at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the man, identified as 23-year-old Christopher Singh, was shot to death.

Investigators say Singh, who is from Delta, was known to police and was suspected to be involved with the gang conflict. He did not have a criminal record.

IHIT does not believe this was a random attack.
