Man arrested after two people killed in West Vancouver crash, speed and alcohol ‘likely contributed’

WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – One man has been arrested, and is potentially facing criminal charges following a crash that killed two people in West Vancouver Thursday morning.

The 22-year-old Vancouver man is “possibly facing charges related to criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm,” according to a statement from police.

“Investigators believe that speed and alcohol likely contributed to the collision that tragically took the lives of two 20-year-old Surrey men.”

Police say the collision happened just before 4 a.m. The orad has now been reopened, and the investigation in ongoing.

“This is an absolutely tragic incident,” said Const. Kevin Goodmurphy following the crash.
