Mandatory mask policy in place in time for Saturday Lions game at BC place

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — You’ll see a crowd around BC Place Saturday night, but unlike last month’s BC Lions game, masks are now mandatory.

The stadium is clarifying even if the roof is open, it’s an indoor venue which means face coverings are required.

Jenna Visram, assistant general manager at BC Place, says staff will be watching fans.

“I think it’s about education, about reminding people about approaching people in a really friendly manner and people are quite receptive,” she says, adding, “We have lots of reminders with all of our signage, public announcements within the games, and on the video boards, and so people are understanding and seem to be feeling quite comfortable with being at games.”
