Man injured in Burnaby after shooting outside 8 Rinks
VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — RCMP in Burnaby have confirmed a 33-year-old man was injured during a shooting near Scotia Barn, also known as 8 Rinks, on Sprott Street and Norland Avenue. Several police cruisers arrived in response.
Corporal Mike Kalanj says the victim was alive and conscious when first responders arrived. They were transported to hospital with what’s believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
“It is unsettling to see such blatant disregard for public safety,” Corporal Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP says. “At this time, investigators do not believe this incident is related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict. Our officers are working diligently to identify and locate the people or person responsible.”
