Warmer, drier fall ahead for Metro Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — We officially said goodbye to summer and hello to fall at 12:21 p.m. Wednesday.

While the heat dominated the early part of summer, the tail end of the season was closer to seasonal with last week’s heavy rain bringing precipitation amounts well up.

At least for the first couple of weeks of fall, meteorologist Michael Kuss says it will be slightly warmer and drier than normal.

“The early parts of autumn are going to be near seasonal both for precipitation … and for temperatures,” he says.

As for November and into December, “the tail end of the season could be affected by La Niña and that cooling water in the eastern equatorial Pacific could drop temperatures along the B.C. coast as well.”
