VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing 57-year-old man.

Steven Dempster was last seen by his family near his place of work Friday at 6 p.m., near Moberly Road and Market Hill in the False Creek area.

Police say he was expected to catch the bus nearby and walk to his home near West 13th Avenue and Manitoba Street, however, he never made it home.

Dempster is described as Indigenous, 5’6″, with short black and grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue jacket with yellow trim, a white shirt with orange sleeves, blue pants, and black slip-on shoes.

Police say Dempster lives with schizophrenia and epilepsy, and usually gets around Vancouver by using transit and walking.

Police are asking that anyone who sees Dempster calls 9-1-1 and stays with him until crews arrive.
