Burnaby stabbing sends one person to hospital

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – One person was rushed to the hospital after a stabbing in Burnaby Thursday night.

According to the RCMP, the woman says she was attacked in an alley near Royal Oak Avenue and Rumble Street just before 7:30 p.m.

She made her way to a nearby convenience store to get help.

It’s unclear how seriously the woman was hurt, or what prompted the attack. However, Mounties have confirmed the RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

The RCMP also says there doesn’t appear to be an ongoing threat to the public.

So far, no arrests have been reported.
