Island health dedicates website to pass along ‘thanks’ to healthcare staff

VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) — Healthcare workers on Vancouver Island are getting a little positivity from the public, thanks to a website set up by the health region.

The site allows people to pass on messages of gratitude and stories of personal experiences to nurses, doctors, call takers, and other health region staff.

The ongoing pandemic has left healthcare workers in the province now working tirelessly for over 19 months where they’ve been frustrated, brought to tears and at times worried for their own safety.

In the latest province update, the province recorded 70 new COVID-19 cases in the Island Health region and as of Friday, there are a total of 717 active cases in the area.

You can send your own message by heading to thanks.islandhealth.ca/.
