Power restored in Richmond to 14,000 customers

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) — A brief power outage Thursday affected about 14,000 customers in Richmond Thursday afternoon.
BC Hydro says the outage was due to a transmission circuit failure.

According to some social media users, the outage affected Vancouver Airport.
“Emergency power came on in like 30 seconds then power came back about 5 minutes later,” a Twitter user wrote.
“We had a brief power outage but we’ve worked with our partners to ensure everything is up and running again,” YVR wrote on Twitter.
