About Sandra

Sandra's love of sports began as a youngster in 1988 at the Winter Olympics in Calgary. She finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary and completed the post-degree journalism program at Mount Royal University. Along with being the CityNews Radio afternoon sports anchor in Vancouver and Calgary, she contributes to various Sportsnet projects. Sandra has done a fair bit of play-by-play work, spending several seasons as the voice of the Calgary Inferno in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. She has also called action for the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association, United Women's Soccer and was in the broadcast booth for a handful of games for the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League during the pandemic-shortened season. One of her greatest passions is promoting women's sport.
