Lights of Hope, St. Paul’s Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign for our hospitals’ and residences’ greatest needs, is celebrating 20 years of giving this holiday season.

NEWS 1130 is a proud media sponsor of LIGHTS OF HOPE this season to commemorate 20 years of lighting up Burrard Street! CLICK HERE to donate and support!

Bringing together thousands of British Columbians and tourists, the Lights of Hope celebration will take place on Thursday, November 16th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Marking the launch of the fundraising campaign, the celebration will feature fireworks and St. Paul’s Hospital’s iconic lighting display – illuminating Burrard Street with over 100,000 sparkling light bulbs.

Guests can sip on hot chocolate, listen to local choirs singing Christmas carols, and grab a snack at one of the food trucks lining the street. Fireworks and the lighting display will take place between 6:30 – 7:00pm.

Lights of Hope supports St. Paul’s Foundation in meeting the greatest needs of caregivers, patients, residents and loved ones. Donate today at lightsofhope.com.

The event is being held at St. Paul’s Hospital at 1081 Burrard Street and the spectacular display will be up until January 8th, shining every day from dusk till dawn.

14th Annual Windows of Hope @ Richmond Auto Mall

The Richmond Auto Mall and the Richmond News are proud to present the 14th annual Windows of Hope, in support of the Richmond Christmas Fund.

Every year, the dealerships at the Richmond Auto Mall have invited businesses and volunteers to paint unique holiday windows in the Auto Mall. A proud Richmond tradition, Windows of Hope raises money for the Richmond Christmas Fund. Each year, the Fund distributes grocery vouchers to families and individuals in need, and special holiday gifts to children and teenagers.

The Windows of Hope will be on display at the Richmond Auto Mall throughout December.

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army’s iconic red kettles are back for the holiday season. For six weeks, the Christmas kettles line the streets in over 40 communities across the province.

This year’s goal is to raise $4.5 million dollars – the money will go towards providing vital funds to feed, clothe and shelter individuals and families in need.

Goh Ballet Presents: The Nutcracker @ The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts

Goh Ballet’s highly anticipated production of The Nutcracker, which is set to return to the stage at The Centre in Vancouver this holiday season for its ninth annual presentation.

This year’s production runs from December 14th to the 19th and features Principal Dancers Jerome Tisserand and Elizabeth Murphy from the Pacific Northwest Ballet, who will perform as the Cavalier Prince and the Sugarplum Fairy, respectively, alongside more than two hundred local and international talents.

The cast will dance to choreography by Emmy award winning dance visionary, Anna-Marie Holmes, as well as musical accompaniment by the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, which will be performing Tchaikovsky’s iconic Nutcracker Suite, under the musical direction of Conductor Leslie Dala.

From December 14th to 19th, The Nutcracker will run nightly, with matinee performances on weekends. The performances are sure to sell out, so make sure to purchase your tickets before they’re gone, to experience Goh Ballet’s beloved, traditional portrayal of
this classical masterpiece.

A Great Big Give for A Loving Spoonful @ The Fountainhead Pub

NEWS 1130 is proud to partner with A Loving Spoonful to present the 3rd annual The Great Big Give.

From opening to close on December 15th, NEWS 1130 and the Fountainhead Pub will work together to raise funds for A Loving Spoonful. Between 6AM-10AM, breakfast at the pub is by donation, plus proceeds from the food and drink specials ALL DAY go towards A Loving Spoonful.
