BC Teachers Federation working on solution for students as spring break ending

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — With spring break coming to an end next week, many parents are wondering how their children will continue learning.

Teri Mooring, president of the BC Teachers Federation, says teachers and school principals will be having meetings next week to figure that out.

But, as of Wednesday, no plan is in place.

“It’s really important that whatever we plan in terms of what learning looks like, that is fully accessible to all of our students,” Morring says.

She adds the outlook for each student will be different depending on the grade they are in and the number of classes they’re taking.

“In terms of what this all looks like, it’s going to take us a while to get to get it sorted out.”

The Ministry of Education says it’s working to provide guidance to schools and help them develop plans to support ongoing learning opportunities for students, adding parents will hear from schools in the coming week.
