COVID-19 cases confirmed among staff at Abbotsford courthouse

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) — The province has confirmed that “courthouse staff” staff Abbotsford Provincial Court have tested positive for COVID-19.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of the Attorney General did not indicate the number of workers who have contracted the coronavirus, and does not provide details on the occupations of the employees.
“The staff are now following the instructions of the local health authority,” Friday’s statement reads.
“To protect the health and safety of courthouse employees.”

This news comes on the heels of a story NEWS 1130 broke Thursday about COVID-19 cases among workers at the Surrey courthouse.
Movement of staff, particularly sheriffs, between courthouses is one of the concerns being raised by employees in Surrey and the union representing them.
