NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Donations are pouring in for the family of a 12-year-old boy who died in a skiing accident on the North Shore last weekend.

A GoFundMe page, set up to help cover the costs of a celebration of life and grief counselling, has raised more than $2,000.
The page says the boy’s mom is self-employed and doesn’t have access to a benefits program.
“As a community that is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of our friend’s son, we have set up this fund to help the family with upcoming expenses … that will help them through this very tough time,” the fundraiser reads.
The boy died at BC Children’s Hospital on April 10, after a skiing accident at Mount Seymour.
The page says any donations not used by the family will go to the BC Children’s Hospital.
